Essential Functions

1. Establishes new test, and/or evaluation methods by searching related literature and applying technical knowledge to effectively generate, or gather, and record pertinent data.
2. Oversees the parameters of experiments; gathers data and writes reports of findings.
3. Performs mechanical testing, quantitative chemical analysis and photomicroscopy as required in projects in the Materials Section.
4. Develops and initiates test situations which will challenge a medical device to define its limits and problem areas in the Materials Section.
5. Manipulates and oversees the parameters of experiments in the Transport Phenomena Section.
6. Locates materials, determines cost, and orders supplies.
