Job Summary

Performs qualitative/quantitative analysis of organic/inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical composition and properties. Conducts research to develop, or improve analytical techniques and procedures.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, or related area, or equivalency; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs tests on organic and inorganic material with highly sophisticated and automated equipment to determine chemical and physical composition and properties.
  2. Plans and develops new experimental analytical procedures and protocol to accomplish specific required analysis which have not previously been encountered.
  3. Tests and evaluates procedures to ascertain accuracy, reliability, precision, and the effect of materials and substance for the potential of interfering with analytical results.
  4. Calculates all experimental results and makes reports to the appropriate personnel.
  5. Orders, inventories and stores supplies, labware, and instrument parts essential for the operation of the laboratory.
  6. Ensures the general operation of the laboratory by maintaining the physical facilities and instrumentation.
  7. Prepares and packs sampling devices and kits to be used in the collection of laboratory samples.
