Job Summary

Coordinates with Utah’s colleges, universities and the system of public instruction to develop, provide and promote quality educational programming, resources and services on Utah Education Network (UEN) systems for Utah students.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus five years of experience in public or higher education or equivalency required; demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, human relation skills and computer literacy also required.

Teacher’s certification or Master’s degree in Education preferred.

Experience integrating technology (such as materials from the Internet and instructional video) into the teaching and learning process; working with adult students; grant-writing and fundraising; working with administrative boards (i.e., local boards of education, statewide steering committees) and post-secondary education programs also preferred.

Essential Functions

  1. Coordinates and facilitates system distribution of instructional programs, courses, resources, projects, software and support materials.
  2. Plans and implements procedures in consultation with key participating groups to set and achieve goals and objectives.
  3. Researches and evaluates available instructional materials. Maintains contact with users in order to assess needs, develop strategies and implement solutions.
  4. Identifies, initiates and monitors evaluative research. Oversees the selection, evaluation, acquisition and development of UEN content.
  5. Supports instructional and educational services by acting as a liaison with agency partners.
  6. Assists in the development and delivery of presentations and written documents to promote public awareness of available services.
  7. Develops and oversees an operating budget.

Problem Solving

Incumbents in this position must use independent judgment in resolving problems that may arise, such as technical issues, changing instructional needs and developing new procedures to meet program objectives. Incumbents in this position must act collaboratively with all stakeholders involved in order to meet current objectives and create new opportunities for growth.

Comments

Some travel is required.
