Job Title: Education Staff Assistant

Job Summary

Assists with the coordination, design and production of activities for educational programs.

Qualifications

Three years experience as a classroom assistant in a related academic area, or equivalency; knowledge and understanding of a variety of teaching methods in order to adjust activities/training session to include participants of different ages; a thorough knowledge of related academic subjects in order to assist in developing participant and/or classroom activities/programs; and demonstrated knowledge of teaching/educational methods and communication skills to conduct educational activities and/or training sessions in a clear and concise manner required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.

Essential Functions

  1. Assists in developing and conducting of training sessions on subjects related to area of assignment.
  2. Assists in coordination, design and production of educational activities.
  3. Assists in development of new ideas regarding educational programs.
  4. Assists in development of workshops, brochures and educational materials.

Problem Solving

A challenge the incumbent may encounter is determining the best teaching method to be used in order to present material in a manner that facilitates learning and keeps the interest of participants.

Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.
