University of Utah Job Description
Performs routine clerical procedures and patron services within an assigned library department.
Six months clerical or customer service experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

The problems associated with this position consist of assisting patrons locate materials. Responds to patron questions regarding fines and remaining calm when confronted with difficult patrons. When incumbents are faced with circumstances beyond their basic knowledge and authority, the problem is referred to the supervisor for resolution.
