Job Title: Wardrobe Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for the maintenance, inventory and rental control of theatre costumes and accessories.

Qualifications

One year of experience in a theatrical costume area or equivalency required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Knowledge of fashion history is preferred.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Care is appropriate to the population served

Essential Functions

  1. Keeps theatre costumes clean and organized in the storage area.
  2. Restocks costumes after use in a production or return from a rental.
  3. Assists customers with finding costumes.
  4. Tracks inventory and dates of costume rentals and submits bills.
  5. Identifies and recommends costumes for specific productions.
  6. Supervises and assigns student work in the costume storage area.

    Problem Solving

    The incumbent works under general supervision in the performance of most tasks and is primarily responsible for keeping the costume storage area organized and usable at all times.

    Comments

    The incumbent in this position needs to have exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

    The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
