Job Summary

Assists in maintaining the consistency of all automated play and record list functions for KUED/KUEN broadcast operations.  Identifies technical and programming discrepancies, assesses the severity of problems, and communicates with appropriate personnel for troubleshooting.  

Qualifications

Six months experience in a communication field, such as radio or television broadcasting, cable or satellite systems, or computer and/or electronic media or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are also required. Must be able to work independently, under general supervision.

Essential Functions

1. Assists the department manager in the operation of all automated play and record lists used for television broadcasting
2. Assists in video file server removal of archived material
3. Operates the technical systems that support KUED broadcasting.
4. Reports technical or programming issues to the correct departments.  
5. Assists in the transfer of DVD files to the KUED archive system.
6. Encodes interstitial material for KUED and KUEN

Comments

This position requires shift work including coverage for weekends, holidays and vacations.  This position is responsible for providing the on-air operations for KUED/KUEN which may involve utilizing various audio and video equipment to ensure that programs are being properly broadcast.
