Job Summary
Coordinates and oversees production of the quarterly Class Edition catalog and all print media for the marketing area of the Academic Outreach and Continuing Education Office (AOCE). Coordinates advertising in print media and direct mail projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); three years practical experience writing, editing and/or proofreading; and the ability to use Word Perfect, meet multiple deadlines and provide excellent customer service required.
A background that includes market research, print production, attention to detail and knowledge of mailing procedures preferred.

Essential Functions
Problem Solving
The incumbent has the authority to assist clients and make recommendations to them pertaining to the appropriateness of advertising medium for their target audience. She/he also has the authority to determine which last minute changes will be made to the quarterly catalog. Problems encountered in such decisions must be weighed against the slowdown in production which usually results in higher production costs, followed by shorter time frames to meet deadlines. The incumbent also has the authority to assign rush projects to copywriters, necessitated by client deadlines, which can result in overtime work.
The incumbent ordinarily will work to resolve any client disputes, however those that cannot be resolved are referred to the supervisor.
The incumbent has the latitude to work the departmental budget to offset design and production costs of the quarterly catalog and various publications.

Annually, the incumbent must coordinate all aspects of production on four catalogs, ranging in size from 120 to 170 pages; track production of over 600 print/video jobs; and coordinate approximately 60 direct mail projects annually.
