Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the activities of the editing of television programs and editing promotional and underwriting segments, as well as interstitials and credits for KUED-TV. The Chief Video Editor also oversees the AACIP grant and building of the KUED production archive.
Qualifications
Ten years related professional experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Experience should include video production, with an emphasis on editing full-length television programs, along with familiarity with PBS and FCC standards, rules, and regulations. The ability to make creative decisions, work under pressure, and maintain organized efforts while assuring high technical and aesthetic standards is also required. Experience working with advanced videotape and tapeless technologies, and non-linear editing systems is strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Arts, or a related area is preferred along with experience in staff supervision and scheduling.
