Job Summary

Assists in the production of program materials by performing a wide range of functions including, but not limited to: scheduling, coordinating facilities, photography, production of print-based course materials and radio work.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Media Arts, or a related field, or equivalency; one year previous experience; and demonstrated analytical, oral and written communication skills required.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs in-depth research of materials for prescribed projects. Gathers information from all available sources on assigned topics and compiles the information accurately and understandably.
  2. Assists in the daily and advance scheduling of events and projects. Gathers, organizes and coordinates materials needed for various programs.
  3. May write drafts of scripts and inner script segments for television or radio production.
  4. May serve on the studio crew as a Studio Camera Operator or Studio Floor Manager and perform other related production functions on assignment.
  5. May create electronic character generations using a character generator and stores images on disk to be used at a later time in production or during a live program.
  6. May assist during film productions by serving as a script and continuity assistant.
  7. May be responsible for formatting text and graphics into templates.
  8. May assist in publication design of course manuals and marketing materials.
  9. Ensures that complete and thorough research has been performed and that the best information is being used for a production.
  10. Ensures that productions meet the needs of the public and that the image of the department and University are upheld.

Problem Solving

This position has authority to make creative decisions that will affect how a production will look, what research methods to use, and what information to include or exclude in a specific production.
