Job Summary

Designs, develops and produces quality media production (including: programs, program segments, shorts, and instructional video) Overseeing and managing all aspects of production from pre to post production phases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Film Studies, related field or equivalency required plus three year of directly related in instructional or commercial media procution.  Good writing skills and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required

Knowledge of the regulations pertaining to television broadcasting may be required dependent upon department.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions

  1. Initiates, coordinates and oversees all aspects of media production.
  2. Develops original program ideas, concepts and scripts.
  3. Coordinates all production activities.
  4. Manages the budget for single program or program series.
  5. Develops and implements creative and technical aspects of production.
  6. Organizes and plans aesthetic and technical aspects of the audio and video components.
  7. Supervises, hires and trains production crew.

Problem Solving

Responsible for making all decisions regarding content, quality, personnel and expenditures for each project the incumbent is assigned to produce.

The incumbent must devise the best approach to realize the program content in a manner meeting educational objectives while remaining on time and under budget. Incumbent must evaluate the program during development and monitor expenses to ensure staff and resources are used efficiently and that a quality program is created.
