Job Summary
Coordinates personnel of a centralized distance education network based at the University of Utah and personnel at distance education sites throughout the State of Utah. Conducts onsite visits to provide training, troubleshoot technical issues and supervise regional staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus four years of related experience required or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Knowledge of a variety of computer operating platforms and IP, data, voice and video networks and their associated protocols; demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred qualifications include strong organizational and project management skills; previous teaching and technical training experience; understanding of Utah Education Network’s data, video, microwave and voice network; A+ certification.
This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions
Problem Solving
Incumbents in this position must be able to effectively communicate the objectives and policies governing distance education activities to regional staff and stakeholders. Incumbents operate independently in the field and will be responsible to make decisions with little supervision.
Comments
Incumbents in this position generally live in the region they serve and will be required to travel to various distance education sites. Incumbents will be required to lift heavy objects up to 25 pounds; crawl on hands and knees to make repairs on electronic equipment.
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
