Job Summary
Designs, engineers, and coordinates projects. Obtains cost estimates, schedules projects and staff, and installs and maintains a wide assortment of sophisticated electronic and audio equipment/systems. Supervises shop personnel and directing the activities of the Electronics Shop to ensure that electronic equipment is utilized effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Electronics, or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); five years of electronics repair and design experience; previous supervisory and budgeting experience; demonstrated knowledge of Motorola equipment; and demonstrated trouble shooting, analytic, human relation and effective communication skills required.
A valid FCC license and NABER certification may be preferred.

Essential Functions
Problem Solving
This position has the authority to make expenditures from his/her authorized assigned budget within the guidelines of University policy. The supervisor has the authority to perform departmental personnel functions such as hiring, terminating, training, and making salary decisions on employees assigned to the Electronics Shop.
Representative challenges encountered by the incumbent include performing the acoustical room analysis necessary to properly install an audio system. The incumbent designs, engineers, troubleshoots, and repairs electronic equipment and systems. Additionally, the supervisor designs and installs computer network systems.
