Facilitates the conversion of hard copy plans of all buildings on campus to a computer database. Sees that the space utilization and floor plans are accurately updated and maintained for use by staff architects, engineers, and planners. Provides architectural drafting and graphic support services to Campus Design and Construction architects, engineers, planners and other personnel as requested.
Associate's degree in Architectural Drafting or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); one year of previous architectural drafting experience using computer aided design techniques; a working knowledge of building construction and remodeling methods and materials; and excellent written communication skills, oral communication skills and interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated customer service skills to deal effectively with others are also required.

The incumbent has the authority to hire outside CAD consultants (funds permitting) to assist with conversion of campus buildings to CAD database. This position is responsible for prioritization of time spent on CAD conversions, database updates, and assisting staff architects, engineers and project coordinators. Time is allocated according to the current area of greatest urgency.
Additionally, the incumbent works to encourage the Campus Design and Construction staff architects and engineers to submit their completed projects for incorporation into the database update process. The incumbent also makes the CAD database available and usable to all Campus Design staffs as well as other University departments.
