Job Summary
This position serves as the technical expert in occupational safety and conducts safety analyses related to the construction and operations/maintenance of facilities. Specialists provide expert advice to management regarding safety performance and the status of health safety programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a life science, safety engineering, or occupational safety and health related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), AND three years professional experience in occupational safety. Knowledge of government regulations, professional association recommendations, consensus standards, safety analysis, and cost control principles is also required.
Experience delivering health and safety service in a higher education environment is preferred.
