Job Summary
Performs clerical and manual work involved in the receiving, inspecting, recording, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, and supplies. Ensures that an available supply of commonly used goods is stocked for various University departments.
Qualifications
The ability to move or manipulate heavy objects; the ability to read and write in English; demonstrated human relation skills; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required. A knowledge of inventory control procedures would be helpful. Six months storeroom experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) preferred. A valid Utah Driver's license with proof of insurability may be required for persons in positions that require delivery.

Essential Functions
Problem Solving
The incumbent is given authority to make individual decisions regarding receiving and delivery of materials. The incumbent’s supervisor will review actions that are non-routine in nature before taking specific action.
Some problems the incumbent may encounter include making selection on stock items; responding to questions from departments regarding supplies or items out of stock; and ensuring materials delivered are consistent with items ordered. He/she will also be required to make certain all items are entered into the computer system and accounted for; and evaluate the quality of merchandise received from vendors.

Often: Hazards (includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals).
Seldom: Extreme cold, extreme heat, noise (there is sufficient noise to cause you to shout in order to be heard above the noise level).
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required
Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.
Often: walking, standing, bending, lifting - up to 50 pounds.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead, lifting - over 50 pounds.
