Job Title: Coordinator, Donor Relations

Job Summary

Acknowledges major donors, compiles biographical and financial information to update files, and maintains records pertaining to the Stewardship Program.  Responsible for daily activities in support of development programs, prepares advertisements or correspondence regarding the organization and its programs.  

Qualifications

Three years of office experience with a strong emphasis on customer service; effective verbal and written communication skills; the ability to use a word processor; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.

Essential Functions

  1. Edits memorial/honor gift acknowledgments, types and distributes monthly gift reports and types special pledge and donor reports.
  2. Assists with compiling and editing donor information for Impact, the university's annual donor report.
  3. Compiles biographical and financial information on donors and prospects for honorary and distinguished alumni award nominees, honorary degree nominees, president's seminar participants and the VIP files; and updates the data base with any new information.
  4. Maintains benefits and records for the university's benefactors, associates and president club members.
  5. Supervises the maintenance of the VIP files, including establishing new files, assisting with President Club renewals, typing, copying letters from the President and filing.
  6. Composes recognition letters to donors to acknowledge special events in the donor's life, or notifies the family if a gift has been given in honor of a donor.
  7. Prepares and updates the guest list, oversees the addressing of 2,500 invitations and the preparation of name tags for the President's Dinner.
  8. May arrange and attend meetings with donors and prospective donor.
