Job Summary

Provides planning expertise to University departments and administrators. Responsible for identifying, analyzing and making recommendations for the short-term and long-term needs of assigned departments. Prepares and presents reports and formulates master plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus three years directly related experience or equivalency required. Commitment to provide excellent customer service, planning and analytical skills required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills also required. Technical expertise in related area may be required in some areas.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs high-level departmental needs assessments and analysis.
  2. Evaluates cost and resource constraints and makes recommendations.
  3. Creates long-term, multi-departmental master plans.
  4. Develops project proposals by coordinating with department and other related business units.
  5. Plans and coordinates multiple services to meet departmental needs.
  6. May prepare special studies and reports for regulatory agencies.
  7. May negotiate interdepartmental layout and space stipulations.

    Problem Solving

    This position faces challenges in balancing the needs of the customer with limited resources. In performing the initial assessment the incumbent must be sure that the departmental needs and limitations are completely understood in order to provide an accurate master plan. Challenges will be coordinating with multiple people and functional areas to achieve favorable results for all involved.
