Job Summary
Directs the administrative, management and personnel functions of a multi-building residential complex for University students. Provides the leadership to develop a community that encourages academic and personal growth. Supervises a diverse group of residential staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area plus two years experience in residence life management, programming, student activities or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Demonstrated supervision, organization, planning, group dynamics, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Master's degree in College Student Personnel or related area and one year post-master’s related experience preferred.

Problem Solving
Incumbents encounter a wide array of issues, some of which are handled according to department protocol while other issues are resolved in collaboration with others. Incumbents must interact well with a diverse group of students, parents, staff and University administrators and have the ability to provide the appropriate resolution.
Comments
This position and associated staff are critical components of the Housing and Residential Education program as they have a direct impact on the quality of life experienced by all members of the residential community.
Incumbents are provided with an on-campus furnished apartment plus utilities, internet and local telephone service at no cost. Meals are also provided at no cost when the dining services are available. Some evening and weekend work is required.
