Job Title: Alumni Relations Director

Job Summary

Develops, coordinates, promotes, maintains and evaluates programs and special events sponsored by the Alumni Association to promote continued involvement and support of University alumni and students.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus four years related or equivalency required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Experience in alumni relations in a non-profit institution preferred. Experience coordinating volunteers, supervising staff, budgeting and creating publications also preferred.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions

  1. Provides strategic direction of designated Alumni Association boards, chapters and committees to promote continued involvement and support of University alumni and students.
  2. Establishes budgetary goals and ensures program expenditures do not exceed allocated budget.
  3. Develops and implements outreach programs to engage alumni as program participants to ensure a continued investment with the University.
  4. Plans, coordinates and attends special campus and community events, such as commencement, homecoming, reunions and recognition banquets.
  5. Oversees the daily operations of the alumni chapter program. Sustains and strengthens local, national and international alumni chapters.
  6. Coordinates and trains volunteers who work on events, projects and programs. Ensures an appropriate volunteer base.
  7. Coordinates the development of content and design of assigned publications and on-line media.
  8. Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.
  9. Maintains effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

Comments

Some travel is required. Incumbents work in both a supporting and supervisory capacity.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.
