Job Summary
Oversees development activities of several university departments/colleges/areas. Provides strategic guidance regarding developing appeals, cultivating donors and prospective donors, soliciting gifts, and ensuring all gifts are acknowledged. May also have direct fundraising responsibility for a college/department/area. Acts as a catalyst between departments, faculty, staff, students, and external entities to ensure continuity and quality of service. As one of the most experienced and successful fundraisers, establishes and effectively manages relationships with the most critical, highest profile prospects. Designs and implements strategic fundraising plans. Fundraising goals are significantly higher and/or broader, and portfolio size is typically smaller than lower-level Officers. Develops long-term donor relationships and solicits gifts in the 6 to 8-figure range. Supervises one or more Advancement Directors and/or Development Directors.
