Job Summary

Independently and with some basic oversight, completes various routine pre-award administration of research grants &/or contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of relevant work experience

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Essential Functions

  • Proficient with all the duties and responsibilities of a Pre-Award GCO I
  • Independently completes basic proposals for a variety of sponsors
  • With basic oversight from a supervisor, completes complex proposal preparation for a variety of sponsors
  • Initial exposure to complex proposal preparation (e.g. multi-project proposals, institutional training grants, contract proposals)
  • Demonstrates familiarity with and appropriately utilizes University, department, and most common sponsor systems and processes for proposal preparation, submission, and tracking
  • Expanded knowledge of University and department research administration systems and processes
  • Expanded knowledge of various sponsor systems, processes and policies required for proposal submission
  • Problems encountered are varied, but generally with precedent. Resolution may require some analysis and interpretation, requiring innovation and creativity.
  • Has developed specialized skills or is multi-skilled through job-related training and on-the-job experience
