Job Summary

Provides and coordinates advocacy for survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, complying with VAWA Federal Campus Security ACT, Title IX regulations, and the Clery Act. Provides crisis response and individual and community based intervention services to the University. Provides advocacy through the criminal justice and judicial process on campus. Helps victims navigate and receive resources, services, and support throughout their academic career. Evaluates sexual response and prevention programs including education and outreach and makes recommendations for improving programs effectiveness.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field or equivalency. Two years’ experience providing direct service case management and crisis intervention for survivors of sexual assault and/or interpersonal violence. Utah State Certified Victim Advocate (40 Hour Trained). In-depth knowledge of current literature and best practices regarding sexual assault and inter-personal violence. Excellent writing and professional speaking skills. Demonstrated ability to work with students and administrators on sensitive topics.

Master's degree (MSW or related field), working knowledge of federal regulations related to campus (VAWA, Title IX, Campus Security ACT), grant writing experience, and student affairs experience are preferred.

Essential Functions

1. Serves as point of contact for campus; resource and referral for students, faculty and staff.

2. Provides case management and advocacy for students through judicial and criminal justice process.

3. Trains faculty, staff and students in responding to students who report incidents of sexual assault or gender-based violence.

4. Serves as a navigator for the systems of the University (ex: registrar, financial aid, academic affairs) providing support with petition processes as required.

5. Serves on relevant committees, task forces, and development groups on campus and in the community.

6. Consults on the development of current campus policies and procedures on sexual violence in accordance with VAWA, Campus SAVE ACT and other federal and state guidelines.

7. Provides referrals to appropriate campus entities such as counseling and health services.

8. Collaborates with campus and community organizations to meet survivors' needs.
