Job Summary

Conceptualizes, designs, prepares and checks; CAD models, assemblies, drawings, change orders, bill of materials, renderings, and animations. Collaborates with design, prototyping, testing and production partners to develop and translate designs into prototyped, tested and manufactured product. Complies with quality system, document management and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science Degree in a computer-aided design / drafting or mechanical engineering technology field or equivalent.

Essential Functions

1. Create 3D models and drawings compliant with the ASME Y14.5M standard and applicable quality system, document management and regulatory requirements
2. Create 3D renderings and animations to effectively communicate product function, features and benefits to collaboration partners
3. Effectively collaborate with design, prototyping, testing and production partners to develop and translate designs into prototyped, tested and manufactured product
4. Prepare accurate, correct and complete models, drawings, bill of materials and other product requirement documents to fully and clearly define products
5. Review models, drawings, bill of materials and other product requirement documents created by others to ensure products are fully and clearly defined and compliant with requirements
6. Assist in facilitating prototyping, testing and production activities of products designed

- Mechanically inclined and detail oriented
- Efficient with 3D CAD software to create models, drawings, renderings and animations
- Ability to interpret technical documents, regulations and specifications
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Efficient with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Effective with personal time management
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Experience with SolidWorks preferred
