Job Summary

The Therapeutic Accelerator was launched to identify and accelerate the most promising therapeutic assets at University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Institute. With a significant initial investment, the Accelerator will be structured and resourced to rapidly identify and advance up to four assets annually. Working in close coordination with academic researchers, CRO’s and industry partners, the Accelerator will create a pipeline of therapeutic candidates and subsequently commercialize them.

The Therapeutic Accelerator Team is charged with rapid acceleration of novel therapeutic and drug delivery systems scaled to standard business practices. The capability is new to the University, so the team will also initially be charged with establishing clarity and trust across campus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry experience bringing therapeutics from pre-clinical development through clinical trials.
• BA/BS Degree required (PhD, MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred)
• Venture capital, large industry or consulting experience preferred
• Successful ability to navigate a matrix-ed environment
• Experience with/comfort presenting to senior leaders
• Experience driving and being accountable for projects and revenue goals with enterprise-wide impact (experience at a large, multinational company preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to lead small and large teams of direct and indirect reports
• Strong influencing skills when working with internal and external partners at all levels of the organization
