Job Summary

Supports and advises on the operations and strategic planning of staff management, customer/patient services, and financial management for assigned units of operations. Supports the goals and mission of the assigned units. Acts as a catalyst between departments, faculty, physicians, and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service.

Qualifications

Licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Utah, plus four years of progressively responsible management experience.
Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department. Utah State Prescriptive privileges may be preferred.
UHPPM I-56 requires that newly hired non-physician providers apply for credentialing and privileging at the time of hire.
Care is appropriate to the population served.

Essential Functions

  1. Supports the work of the department CRNA Program Director.
  2. Manages and promotes process improvements throughout department to maximize utilization of CRNA’s.
  3. Manages and standardizes CRNA workload and expectations.
  4. Responsible for working with department leadership to improve processes of care, quality, and patient satisfaction across subspecialties.
  5. Oversees department staff management including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and retention of staff.
  6. Forms positive relationships with staff, peers and senior leadership to support the mission, vision, values, and performance standards of the organization.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Often: Infectious disease, oils (there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids), hazards (includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals).

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.

Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
