Job Title: Mobile Clinic Driver

Job Summary

Drives a recreational vehicle (RV) and provides preventive screening services and outreach to vulnerable populations. Contributes to the wellness of local communities in the Salt Lake Valley.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. A valid Utah Commercial Driver’s License class A or B. Six months experience driving a commercial vehicle (RV, bus, ambulance, fire truck, or other large vehicle). Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card. Proof of insurability. A safe driver with a valid driver’s license and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years. No convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or any drugs within the past 10 years.

Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. During employment, must submit to random drug & alcohol testing. The ability to move heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) may be required.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Essential Functions

  1. Must be able to safely operate and drive a 40-foot recreational vehicle (RV) to various designated sites.
  2. Provide intake and preventive screenings to mobile program clients (screening training available).
  3. Ability to set-up, operate, load and unload RV equipment (leveling jacks, generator, HVAC unit, shore power, water tanks) and prepare RV for use at designated sites (training provided).
  4. Inspect equipment daily for damage, equipment failures, and safety items to ensure the safe use of the equipment while performing assigned duties.
  5. Fill out, in writing, the Daily Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  6. Ability to follow shut down procedures,
  7. Driver needs to be safe, courteous, and professional.
  8. Perform clean-up services, dispose of gray/black water and empty garbage.
  9. Attend regular scheduled staff meetings.

Often: Repetitive foot motion (such as using foot controls), talking, walking, bending, reaching overhead 

Seldom: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), twisting, climbing, kneeling, squatting, balancing, pulling, pushing, lifting over 50 pounds

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
