Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, provides strategic and operational oversight and direction for a specified area of library service. Serves as subject matter/area expert and delivers advanced user support for collections, technology, and reference.

Qualifications

Requires Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3-5 years of progressively more responsible experience with coordinating experience in a library, cultural heritage institution, or similar setting, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Directly related experience working with the types of technologies, collections, and resources used in the specified area of library service preferred.

Essential Functions

1. Forecasts, develops, and implements best practices, policies, and procedures related to a specified area of library service.
2. Manages projects related to implementation of new services and resources
3. Responsible for outreach, instruction, and high-level consultation to students, faculty, and staff across campus.
4. Develops and promotes new and existing services, collections, and resources to students, University departments, and community members.
5. Ensures service quality through activities such as resolving complex problems, scheduling desks, collecting and analyzing statistics, coordinating with other library/campus departments, and maintaining subject matter expertise.
6. Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community institutional relationships. Participates in University-wide committees to establish services standards and administrative plans and policies.
7. Coordinates and ensures quality of service delivery through appropriate staff scheduling, training, assessment, and internal communication.
8. May supervise staff.
