Job Summary

Supervises daily operations of laboratory equipment preparation and maintenance.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, or equivalency, and three years related experience required. Strong customer service skills preferred.

Essential Functions

  1. Serves as Department Supervisor overseeing all daily Operations of laboratory equipment preparation, process, completion, and delivery.
  1. Establishes and adheres to specific standards of quality control.
  2. Responsible for daily project planning and procurement.
  3. Maintains machine maintenance and records.
  4. Designs, establishes, and implements new routines according to staff resources, research needs and delegates accordingly.
  5. Supervises, trains and reviews the work of laboratory personnel, including scheduling, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  6. Operates complex and/or highly specialized laboratory and/or surgical instruments and equipment and instructs others in their use.
  7. Implements proper and safe procedure flow; adapting to geographical, spatial, laboratory, personnel and environment changes
  8. Assists staff in organization of laboratories, common equipment areas, and other parts of the building as needed. Run errands on campus as needed.

Comments

Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:

Nearly Continuously: Office environment, laboratory environment.

Often: Hazards (includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals), Atmospheric conditions (conditions that affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation).

Seldom: Exposure to animals.

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking, repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, sitting, bending, reaching overhead, lifting up to 50 lbs, pulling, pushing.
