Job Summary
This position coordinates the delivery of patient care and customer service as the liaison of physician assistants and nurse practitioners in the department. The incumbent coordinates ongoing AP clinical education and continuing education and is a liaison to management and faculty for the advanced practitioners.
Qualifications
Current licensure in the State of Utah as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card or obtain one within one month of hire. Five years of experience in a related field, with two of those years working as a supervisor, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. Essential Functions
1. Works in consultation with management for the hiring of NP or PA staff.2. Coordinates the training and education of staff, including annual compliance and licensing or certification.3. Liaison to the clinic manager and other management team members to facilitate the exceptional patient experience.4. Assesses the physical condition of a group of patients by performing physical examinations and obtaining medical histories.5. Formulates the medical plan and prognosis based on patient’s condition.6. Consults with physician(s) regarding patient health care plans and treatment.7. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient’s clinical problems and health care needs.8. Performs selected invasive procedures for therapeutic and/or diagnostic reasons within scope of validated competence.9. Initiates and/or recommends medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatment and procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policy.10. Complies with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care. Initiates and maintains required records and legal documents.11. Participates in quality improvement activities.12. Counsels patients, families and significant others about health and illness, and promotes health maintenance.13. Evaluates, plans, implements, and re-evaluates the care of individuals requiring emergency measures.

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
