Job Summary

Paints interiors and exteriors of buildings and refinishes furniture, equipment and fixtures.

Qualifications

Six months professional painting experience required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communications skills are also required.

 This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Essential Functions

  1. Applies paint to building interiors and exteriors, and other wood, metal, and plaster surfaces, by using brushes, spray guns, rollers, and related painting equipment.
  2. Refinishes furniture and office equipment such as cabinets, counters, tables, and desks using stain, filler, sealer, varnish, shellac, and paint.
  3. Washes, scrapes, sands, putties, seals, spackles, primes, and undercoats surfaces before painting or refinishing.
  4. Blends, mixes, and matches paints and stains by adding pigments and/or thinners to obtain desired color and consistency.
  5. Applies a variety of skills in erecting, rigging, and using scaffolding, ladders, trestles, planks, window jacks and stages.
  6. Performs variety of tasks by decorating and stenciling interior rooms, installing and replacing window glass and mirrors, removing old finishes from woodwork and floors, hanging wallpaper and vinyl, and other related tasks.
  7. This position requires close supervision.

Nearly Continuously: Outdoor Environment, Hazards, Oils, Atmospheric Conditions, Walking, Bending, Twisting, Kneeling/Squatting, Balancing, Reaching Overhead, Pulling, Pushing, Lifting up to 50 lbs.

Often: Extreme Heat, Extreme Cold.

Often: Outdoor Environment, Lifting over 50 lbs, Climbing, Crawling.
