This position is a clinical position within the University of Utah’s Center for Reproductive Medicine clinic and is responsible for processing all inquiries regarding becoming an egg donor, sperm donor, or gestational carriers in our program. This position will perform medical screening to determine eligibility and suitability of referrals for egg donation; assist patients in obtaining the necessary authorizations (legal, clinical, etc) for their care requiring egg donors, sperm donors, or gestational carriers; coordinate with various agencies, banks, laboratories and/or legal representatives as necessary and communicate effectively with all patients and donors; initiating, maintaining, and completing all necessary records.
Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant is preferred. Associate’s degree in sociology, psychology, social sciences, a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) is preferred.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

1. Interview and screen potential egg donors concerning medial history to determine eligibility.
2. Screen all information for each potential egg donor and document every potential case in applicable record, preferably in an Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
3. Verify eligibility of donors within established guidelines of the Food and Drug Administration and document accordingly to ensure compliance with necessary agencies.
4. Coordinate patient care for the population served, including but not limited to: Follow up on patient labs and procedures; coordinate patient care schedule; patient education, order medications, labs, other testing as necessary.
5. Other related duties as assigned.
This position resolves concerns of grieving families and facilitates donation in a sensitive, caring and respectable manner.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.
Seldom: Infectious disease, oils (there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids).

Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
