Job Title: Energy Analyst

Job Summary

Collects, analyzes, reports and shares energy information.  Manages the energy information system which includes the physical metering infrastructure, the energy information server, and communication between them.  Responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of meters. Tests meters to ensure they are in working order.  Manages software and services used to analyze and communicate energy usage.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma with at least 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Associates degree or vocational training in Energy Management preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Manage meter infrastructure.  Verify correct meter operation through inspection and analysis to ensure the collection of accurate and reliable energy data.  Establish and oversee meter O&M program.  Manage expansion of the meter system including meter automation.
  • Analyze energy data through the use of analytical software and spreadsheets to identify energy conservation opportunities.  Produce reports to management and others as needed.
  • Collect energy data.  Oversee meter reading and manage automated collection of data.  Analyze data to ensure that it is consistent, accurate and reliable. 
  • Coordinate with IT to manage communication between meter system and head end.  Ensure communication pathways are open and data is flowing into server.
  • Determine energy baselines, developing measurement and verification methodologies.
  • May calculate operational and ancillary savings, generate financial reports supporting performance based service projects, delivering all written reports and proposal support materials in a timely manner to the proposal development team.

 

Comments

The role requires moving through mechanical spaces and working around equipment to interact with utility meters. 

A valid Utah Driver’s License may be required in certain departments.
