University of Utah Job Description
Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. Responsible for creating and writing various types of documentation, including (but not limited to) white papers, how-to guides, references, system manuals, project plans, cheat sheets, or instructions. Documentation may vary in form, ranging from on-line eDocs or mobile apps to print media. May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document. Specifications and requisite expertise may vary depending on department of employment.
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); plus 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field ad determined by department.
