Job Summary

Maintains a digital collection of images, documents, audiovisuals, and other materials. Assists groups and individuals in locating, obtaining, and using materials. Responsible for creation, preservation, and maintenance of collection, including storage, backup, archiving, copy-writes, and equipment. Provides a variety of media-related services to faculty members, administrative officials and students in the University. Works on media projects for classes, research, grants, student services and public relations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Communications, Art History or related field plus 2 years experience large scale digital information management or equivalency required. Must have demonstrated communications and human relations skills. Specific skills in photography, video and audio production are important elements of this position. A commitment to provide excellent customer service required.

Essential Functions

1.Manage digital (and/or analog) information pertaining to a museum, library, or other entity: including image production, preservation, records, archival procedures, etc.

2.Partner with other departments where needed to provide media production services (audio/video/photography/web design) when needed.

3.Obtain copyright information where necessary in order legally display images/information where appropriate. Insure data is accessible for audiences.

4.May sets up, light, and operate a professional photo studio. Develop and maintain a photo library and shoots slides on location, including local and national conferences, events, etc.

5.Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots all necessary media equipment. Orders, upgrades, and maintains equipment and makes assessments for quality, price and support of inventory.

6.Supervises the activities of a volunteers and interns by training, planning and assigning work, making hiring recommendations, and preparing performance appraisals.
