This position provides central administrative guidance to University faculty and staff while interacting with outside entities in regard to the financial matters of sponsored institutional projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, a related field AND two years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently under pressure and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.

Essential Functions

  1. Prepares, reviews, and finalizes complex financial reports and invoices for submission to sponsoring entities, at an institutional level.
  2. Analyzes awards for the creation of projects and associated attributes within the University’s financial system.
  3. Provides expert advice, guidance, and training to university departments regarding sponsored awards and appropriate administrative processes.
  4. Enforces compliance and ensures consistency with federal and state regulations, University policies and practices, research compliance restrictions and guidelines, financial and academic requirements, close-out practices, and agency policies and procedures.
  5. Collects and prepares all relevant financial information for award close-out.
  6. May provide information for audits.
  7. Assists in solving financial problems related to the administration of awards.
  8. Reviews, interprets, and implements sponsoring agency rules and processes corrections to financial statements.
  9. Reviews receivables and pursues collection of problem receivables.
  10. Manages various databases and maintains data integrity.
  11. Communicates and resolves issues with appropriate funding agencies.
