Job Summary

This position is responsible for promoting sound clinical practices using a variety of communication strategies, maintaining and overseeing technical functions of various programs, coordinating internship programs and performing a variety of project management tasks to enhance the clinical environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah
  • Three years nursing experience related to area of assigned department.
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card, or obtain one within one month of hire.  

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program. • Database management experience.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Essential Functions

  • Maintains and audits clinical databases.
  • Maintains WIKI site.
  • Oversees the Perioperative Internship Program and student placement.
  • Acts as a liaison with IT for implementation of hospital wide systems that impact Perioperative services.
  • Acts as a resource; helps ensure the compliance and coordination of university and service line policy and procedures.
  • Collaborates on the development of guidelines for documentation and care planning based on current clinical and research information.
  • Functions as a consultant to staff in complex patient care situations.
  • Collaborates with all areas within Perioperative services for the application and implementation of new processes, regulatory mandates and various projects assigned by the director.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
