Job Title: Human Resources Technician

Job Summary

Performs duties such as data entry in the maintenance and control of the HRIS system and personnel information.

Qualifications

Three years office experience with at least one year experience in Human Resources or equivalency required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Data entry experience is preferred.

This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Essential Functions

  1. Data enters employee payroll and personnel records into the HRIS system.
  2. Ensures applicant and current personnel job records are accurate and complete.
  3. Files personnel forms and other employee information into personnel file.
  4. Trains new employees in the completion of related tasks.
  5. May schedule training sessions with payroll reporters. Acts as a technical resource to individuals in departments.

Problem Solving

This position responds to requests and questions regarding personnel and payroll matters within identified parameters, but refers difficult or unusual situations to their supervisor. This position may be given latitude to make decisions regarding the day to day operation of their functional area.

The major problems encountered by incumbents in this position include ensuring that employee information is entered correctly and researching and resolving questions and issues related to that information.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.
