Job Summary

Provides professional support to a major functional area of Human Resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalency; two years Human Resource experience; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.

Essential Functions

  1. Interprets and applies University and internal policies to issues in a specific Human Resource function. Provides advice and consultation to University administrators and staff regarding policies and procedures.
  2. Prepares reports and documentation regarding area activities. Analyzes data in order to evaluate effectiveness of procedures and processes.
  3. Recommends modifications regarding existing practices to management, and develops, coordinates and implements changes as needed.
  4. Ensures compliance with federal, state and university laws and regulations regarding Human Resource activities.
  5. Provides assistance in the attainment of departmental objectives by performing special projects and studies at the request of management.
  6. Represents the University with government and community agencies.
  7. Functions as a resource for University staff and administration to address Human Resource questions and problems.
  8. Makes recommendations regarding actions in the areas of specialization.
