Job Summary

Designs, installs, maintains and repairs a wide variety of electronic and digital equipment.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Electronics or equivalency, plus two years experience in audio systems or industrial instrumentation required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions

  1. Designs, installs, maintains and repairs audio systems, instrumentation and controls for a wide variety of automated and manual systems, applications, instrumentation and components.
  2. Develops specialized electronic devices and modifies existing equipment for job specific applications.
  3. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with other shops and departments to provide technical support, training and consultation.
  4. Performs regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on various electronic devices, control and systems.
  5. Responds to emergency requests for repairs to water distribution systems and security systems.
  6. Maintains records of repairs, parts acquisitions and routine services performed.
  7. Assures compliance with federal, state and local codes and appropriate safety procedures.
  8. Performs general electronic equipment troubleshooting and repair.

    Problem Solving

    This position has the authority to prioritize workload to best meet the needs of the shop and make on the spot decisions to resolve system or equipment failure.

    Challenges encountered include diagnostic assessment and repairs to electronic systems and equipment without schematics; coordinating with multiple parties to achieve the proper sound quality for concerts and working with departments to assess their needs and the subsequent development of a plan to fulfill their needs.
