Job Summary
Supervises the Athletic Training Program by preventing, diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating all injuries sustained by athletes who receive injuries while participating in various sports to ensure the program provides the proper care; and by staffing, scheduling and ordering supplies.
Qualifications
Licensure to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Utah, plus certification as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Assocation and one year of related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.
Three years of experience as an athletic trainer in a University setting is strongly preferred.
Certification is acquired through academic preparation consisting of Anatomy and Physiology courses, 1,500 clinical hours in a supervised internship program, CPR and First Aid Training, Graduation from an accredited university, follwed by a written, simulated practical and oral exam sponsored by the National Athletic Trainers Association.
