Job Summary

Develops and conducts training programs, orientation, and continuing education for new and current employees specific to a department or function. Assesses training needs of staff and monitors the effectiveness of the training program.

Qualifications

Six years of progressively more responsible experience in a related area, including one year as a trainer or equivalency; completion of the hospital provided supervisory training within one year of employment; and demonstrated computer, organization, human relation, and effective communication skills required.

This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Essential Functions

  1. Develops and conducts training in department and regulatory procedures, documentation requirements, and department specific computer operations.
  2. Provides orientation for all newly hired employees.
  3. Creates or obtains training and orientation materials.
  4. Identifies and assesses employee skill level and training needs.
  5. Evaluates the effectiveness of department education and training programs.
  6. Maintains documentation of training, education, and new employee orientation.
  7. Creates reports of quality management training, educational activities, and program effectiveness.
  8. Develops and implements monthly training schedule.
  9. Supervises and audits employees daily work.

Problem Solving

Representative challenges of this position include accurately evaluating employee needs to develop training programs and education materials that are effective and address diverse skill levels.
