Job Summary

Coordinates facility improvement projects and resources necessary to meet project schedules and budget requirements.

Qualifications

Eight years progressively more responsible construction and project supervision experience required. General understanding of the functions supervised and knowledge of applicable codes and ordinances required. Completion of hospital provided supervisory training program within one year of hire required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Apprenticeship or Journeyman certification in one or more of the trade areas preferred.

Specific certifications or licenses may be required in some areas.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions

  1. Communicates with department from the beginning of the project through its completion to ensure a thorough understanding of the customer's general concept and intent.
  2. Reviews project designs, estimates, budgets and schedules to ensure that they accurately reflect the project's cost and schedule.
  3. Monitors project staff productivity levels by coordinating personnel for each project and overseeing work performed.
  4. Coordinates the procurement of project materials and equipment with outside vendors in a timely manner.
  5. Ensures completion of project’s quality, timeliness and documentation.

Problem Solving

Incumbent is authorized to coordinate project and employee schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time, within specified budget and appropriate levels of material and equipment are available and used appropriately.

A preliminary budget is specified and this position will oversee associated costs of the construction project to ensure expenses are in line with the budget. This position will determine needs and purchase goods and services as required to ensure project completion.
