Job Summary
Supervises and coordinates daily operations, pharmacy programs and activities to include recruiting, hiring and scheduling staff, conducting performance evaluations, conflict resolution and program development. This position provides pharmaceutical care.
Qualifications
A practice degree in Pharmacy and Utah State licensure to practice pharmacy; controlled substances license; and two years experience as a Pharmacist required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.
An advanced degree (Pharm.D., M.S., or MBA) and previous supervisor experience are preferred.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. This position has the authority to make personnel decisions including hiring, staffing, adapting schedules to departmental needs, and taking disciplinary actions where warranted.
Challenges encountered by the incumbent include staffing, disciplinary actions, program development, daily operations, and balancing hospital and departmental goals with staff interest.

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
