Job Summary

Coordinates training and development programs for the University of Utah. Reviews employee development needs and develops program curricula to meet training needs. Monitors training format and effectiveness and implements changes to ensure a positive outcome.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related area plus two years of training experience or equivalency required. Supervisory, project management and training development skills required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Master’s degree in a related area is preferred.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions

  1. Coordinates and directs the activities of staff engaged in training, orientation, or other related activities.
  2. Develops and presents leadership, management and professional development curricula for University employees.
  3. Conducts research of current training formats, concepts, techniques, and programs for implementation within university training programs.
  4. Participates in reporting and analyzing department metrics.
  5. Assists the department manager in evaluating training staff’s presentation methods and performance. Assists in coaches staff on areas of improvement.
  6. Conducts training needs assessment with customers, identifies goals and creates customized training curricula.
