Job Title: Vascular Lab Technologist

Job Summary

Conducts complete vascular histories and physicals of patients through the use of specialized equipment to aide in the diagnosis of vascular disease and to determine therapy options.

Qualifications

Two years of related experience and registry eligible as a Vascular Technologist and registration through the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographer (ARDMS)are required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.

Essential Functions

  1. Conducts vascular histories and physical exams of patients.
  2. Performs various tests using specialized equipment.
  3. Analyzes, interprets, and records data obtained from test results.
  4. Schedules appointments for patients.
  5. Collects medical information and patient histories.
  6. Conducts follow-up studies.
  7. Ensures operation of equipment.
  8. Records information from tests and patients histories and analyzes it with national statistics.
  9. Orders and maintains supplies.

Comments

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.  The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
