Job Title: Systems Operator

Job Summary

Operates and monitors the HVAC and other mechanical systems on Campus using the Building Automation System. Makes necessary adjustments and repairs as needed to maintain proper function.

Qualifications

Four years of experience in HVAC operation, repair and maintenance and demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills are required. The ability to cooperate with other shop craftsman and staff is also required.

Knowledge of the Building Automation Systems is preferred.

Dependent upon department of assignment, a valid Utah driver’s license may be required.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions

  1. Responds to trouble calls from building occupants and computer alarms.
  2. Repairs and troubleshoots HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and electrical building equipment problems.
  3. Reviews alarm summaries and makes building system adjustments on the Building Automation Systems.
  4. Documents daily building system problems.

Problem Solving

Incumbents are authorized to respond to service calls, assess needs or damage and make decisions regarding the course of action to be taken. They can make repairs or call on the required trades as needed. They are also authorized to advise the appropriate administration of the situation.

Comments

This position is on call 24/7 and is responsible for both employees and facilities day and night.
