Job Summary

Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs the pneumatic and electronic controls on HVAC equipment in all buildings throughout the campus. Uses the Building Automation systems to adjust, monitor and operate the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning to all campus buildings.

Qualifications

Two years of experience in the operation and repair of HVAC controls and demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills are required.

Knowledge of the Building Automation Systems is preferred.

Dependent upon department of assignment, a valid Utah driver’s license may be required.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Essential Functions

  1. Responds to HVAC trouble calls from buildings throughout the campus.
  2. Troubleshoots, repairs and operates the building HVAC systems in all campus buildings.
  3. Troubleshoots, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on all electronic and pneumatic control systems including fume hoods and building exhaust systems.
  4. Rebuilds or replaces obsolete automation controls and components.

    Problem Solving

    Incumbents respond to service calls by looking first at the Building Automation System then adjusting and calibrating the thermostat and mixing box controls and if needed writes a trouble report to other shops to make repairs that are not in their expertise. They keep their supervisor and the customer informed of the situation and follow up with the other shops involved to ensure the system is repaired in a timely manner.

    Comments

    This position is on call 24/7 and is responsible for both employees and facilities day and night.
