Job Summary
Maintains, operates and repairs air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
Qualifications
A minimum of three years experience in refrigeration repair, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated experience in silver-soldering; a working knowledge of refrigerants used in commercial and residential applications; demonstrated customer services skills; and oral and written communications skills required. Technical training in refrigeration and electrical controls preferred. Must be licensed, or receive licensing within six months of hire, by the Environmental Protection Agency to diagnose and repair air conditioning units using the freon recovery system.

Problem Solving
This position has the authority to prioritize workload and determine solutions for basic problems. Maintenance and repairs are typically performed independently; supervisor will be consulted for non-routine solutions.
Comments
This position may be required to be on-call and work a variety of shifts within a 24 hour period.
Some areas have two levels of Refrigeration and AC Mechanics administered by hiring department.
