Job Summary
Provides assistance and information to incoming patients, visitors and staff to facilitate their entrance to, or exit from the hospital. Provides valet parking services for hospital patients and visitors, assists with traffic control in hospital parking areas; and maintains accurate documentation regarding valet parked vehicles.
Qualifications
Two years related experience such as customer service, parking enforcement or as a parking attendant or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); a valid Utah Driver’s License at time of hire with no moving violations in the last two years; and a Heartsaver AED (Automatic Electronic Defibrilator) certification or obtain one within one month of hire required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Essential Functions
Problem Solving
The incumbent has the authority to issue special parking permits to those patients and visitors in need, according to the parking services policy; waive violations when necessary; and recommend changes in service to increase efficiency.
Challenges encountered include creating a positive impression among patients and visitors, for often the first and last experience of the hospital visit is with the parking valet or service officer. The incumbent is also responsible to assist, move or lift patients in an appropriate safe manner into or out of their vehicle or wheelchair; and must be knowledgeable of hospital locations such as offices and clinics, to offer accurate direction to patients and guests.
